We recommended installation of a high performance efficient linear  fluorescent fitting. These utilise five latest technology T5 fluorescent lamps (see our FAQ about T5 lamps) mounted in a body with high reflectance Miro4 reflector. These fittings are suitable for lighting large areas with a high roof stud height that has equal light output around the fitting.

The fittings have a 190Watt saving per fitting in power consumpt ion when compared with a 400W metal halide lamp, this saves about $100 per year.
Standard portal frame warehouse are usually lit by upwards of 30 high bay metal halide light fittings. Investment in removing and retrofitting these fittings repays itself usually within 2 years of installation. When 1 for 1 replacement is undertaken (based on 60hour week, 50 weeks per year, 19c/kWhr and 19,000 service life). When the fittings are installed into a new warehouse the repayment periods are usually 6 months.
